I was fourteen years old and rather than be concerned about which boy band had the hotest guy or what Madonna song had become an anthem for my peers, I was obsessed with viewing the movie Housesitter. I had fallen in love with the home at the epicenter of the film and could not pry myself free. Years later, as we begin to think about what our future house will look like, there is a nostalgic part of me that would adore an abode similar to one the featured opposite Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn. Although this doesn't appear to be the direction we're heading in, there is still a big part of me that is in love with this design.

I am new here! Great blog :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my all-time favorite movie houses! I think I've watched "Housesitter" a million times. I have a fantasy about building one like this by a lake after my kids are grown and gone. :)

I can relate to this...I was more into how to earn money - just because we were so poor- than waiting for that boy to call.
ReplyDeleteIt was/is such a fabulous home! I think we all know where you were coming from, something about the spacious light filled home which resonates with us all!
